Qualifications
To be eligible for the Camp S.W.A.G. Volunteer Ambassador Leadership Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:
- Grade Level:
- Be a current 10th, 11th, or 12th-grade student.
- Academic Standing:
- Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5.
- Be in good academic standing with no attendance or disciplinary issues at school.
- Application and Interview:
- Complete the Volunteer Ambassador Leadership Program Application.
- Participate in an interview with a Camp S.W.A.G. Leadership Program Advisor.
- References and Recommendations:
- Provide at least three (3) references or letters of recommendation:
- Two (2) references from schoolteachers.
- One (1) reference from a coach, counselor, principal, pastor, work supervisor, or community member.
- Options:
- Submit a completed Recommendation Form for the Ambassador Program.
- OR provide three (3) Letters of Recommendation.
- Sealed references should be brought to the interview.
- Provide at least three (3) references or letters of recommendation:
- Resume:
- Submit a resume (if available).
- Academic Records:
- Provide a copy of your unofficial school transcript or a current report card. If required, you may be asked to provide an official transcript at a later date.
- Immunizations:
- Be up to date on all school-required immunizations.
- Leadership Skills:
- Demonstrate leadership skills and be comfortable facilitating leadership activities or sessions.
- Be comfortable working with students in grades 6–8.
- Parental/Guardian Consent:
- Applicants must have parental or guardian consent to participate.
- Program Commitments:
- Participants must commit to attending regular program meetings, events, and leadership sessions as outlined in the program schedule.
- Submission Deadline:
- All applications must be submitted by May 31st. All supporting documents must be submitted by your Interview Date. Late submissions may not be accepted.
