Qualifications

To be eligible for the Camp S.W.A.G. Volunteer Ambassador Leadership Program, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  1. Grade Level:
    • Be a current 10th, 11th, or 12th-grade student.
  2. Academic Standing:
    • Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5.
    • Be in good academic standing with no attendance or disciplinary issues at school.
  3. Application and Interview:
    • Complete the Volunteer Ambassador Leadership Program Application.
    • Participate in an interview with a Camp S.W.A.G. Leadership Program Advisor.
  4. References and Recommendations:
    • Provide at least three (3) references or letters of recommendation:
      • Two (2) references from schoolteachers.
      • One (1) reference from a coach, counselor, principal, pastor, work supervisor, or community member.
      • Options:
      • Sealed references should be brought to the interview.
  5. Resume:
    • Submit a resume (if available).
  6. Academic Records:
    • Provide a copy of your unofficial school transcript or a current report card. If required, you may be asked to provide an official transcript at a later date.
  7. Immunizations:
    • Be up to date on all school-required immunizations.
  8. Leadership Skills:
    • Demonstrate leadership skills and be comfortable facilitating leadership activities or sessions.
    • Be comfortable working with students in grades 6–8.
  9. Parental/Guardian Consent:
    • Applicants must have parental or guardian consent to participate.
  10. Program Commitments:
    • Participants must commit to attending regular program meetings, events, and leadership sessions as outlined in the program schedule.
  11. Submission Deadline:
    • All applications must be submitted by May 31st. All supporting documents must be submitted by your Interview Date. Late submissions may not be accepted.

By signing below, I, the parent or guardian of the applicant, grant permission for my child to participate in the Camp S.W.A.G. Ambassadorship Program. I understand that this program involves leadership training, in-person and virtual meetings, community engagement activities, workshops, and mentorship opportunities.

I acknowledge that I have reviewed the program details, understand the responsibilities associated with the role of an Ambassador, and agree to support my child in fulfilling these commitments. I also agree to abide by the program’s terms and conditions.


Camp S.W.A.G. Ambassadorship Program Application Acknowledgment

  1. Application Review

    • Submission of this application does not guarantee enrollment in the Camp S.W.A.G. Ambassadorship Program. All applications are subject to review and approval by the Camp S.W.A.G. Executive Board.

    • By submitting this application, the parent or guardian confirms that they have reviewed and agreed to the Terms and Conditions outlined on the Camp S.W.A.G. website.
  3. Accuracy of Information

    • The parent or guardian certifies that all information provided in this application is accurate and complete to the best of their knowledge. Providing false or incomplete information may result in disqualification from the program.
  4. Parental/Guardian Consent

    • As the applicant is a minor, submission of this application indicates that the parent or guardian consents to the minor’s participation in the Camp S.W.A.G. Ambassadorship Program if accepted.
  5. Consent for Communication

    • By submitting this application, the parent or guardian consents to being contacted by Camp S.W.A.G. via the provided contact details regarding program updates, application status, and other related communications.
  6. Confidentiality

    • All information provided in this application will be kept confidential and used solely for purposes related to the Camp S.W.A.G. Ambassadorship Program, in accordance with our Privacy Policy.
  7. Acknowledgment of Program Activities

    • The parent or guardian acknowledges that program activities may include leadership training, workshops, field trips, and community events. While Camp S.W.A.G. will take reasonable precautions to ensure the safety of all participants, the parent or guardian understands and accepts the inherent risks involved in such activities.
