The Girls Are Phenomenal Program for High School Girls is designed to help teenage girls develop the leadership skills, emotional intelligence, and academic habits that will guide them through high school and prepare them for college, careers, and beyond. This program builds on the foundations of self-awareness and confidence while offering advanced tools for navigating challenges, making life decisions, and exploring career possibilities.

Comprehensive Program Features for the Girls Are Phenomenal (GAP) Program

1. Advanced Leadership Training

  • Leadership in Action:
    • Opportunities to lead group projects, practice conflict management, and manage group dynamics in real-world scenarios.
    • Hands-on leadership activities during weekly meetings and event planning (e.g., Teen Talent Show Committee and Graduation Ceremony).
  • Public Speaking & Advocacy:
    • Training in public speaking, advocacy, and persuasive communication.
    • Mock presentations and networking exercises to build confidence for leadership roles in school and beyond.

2. Career Exploration and College Prep

  • College Readiness:
    • Guidance through the college admissions process, including writing effective personal statements and essays.
    • Access to scholarship opportunities, including those awarded through the GAP program.
    • High school preparation sessions tailored for middle school girls.
  • Career Mentorship:
    • Personalized mentorship sessions with professional women from diverse industries.
    • Insights into navigating career paths and gaining exposure to potential fields of interest through organized meetings with community leaders.

3. Emotional Intelligence and Mental Wellness

Mentor Middle School Girls:

  • High school participants will assist in mentoring middle school participants.
  • High school mentors will help with homework and provide tutoring support.

    • Active involvement in monthly community service projects, such as organizing drives, park beautification, and Red Cross volunteering (16+).
    • Participants are encouraged to lead these initiatives, developing project management and teamwork skills.

    • Encouragement to design and implement community projects or initiatives that address societal issues.
    • Participants can take ownership of projects, fostering leadership and social responsibility.

Program Schedule

The program runs year-round with the following activities:

  • Monthly Workshops: 2-hour workshops every month, with a focus on advanced leadership and career prep topics.
  • Mentorship Sessions: Monthly one-on-one sessions with industry professionals.
  • Quarterly Leadership Retreats: Special weekend events focusing on leadership development, mental wellness, and career exploration.
  • Field Trips: All field trips will be voted on by program members during the first month of program.
  • Summer One-Week Resident Camp:
  • Graduation Ceremony: Formal attire required.. Recognize participant achievements and announce scholarships.
