Camp S.W.A.G. Financial Need-Based Scholarship Information

Camp S.W.A.G. is committed to strengthening our community by supporting youth development, promoting healthy living and volunteerism, and fostering social responsibility. To ensure that all students have the opportunity to participate in our programs, we offer a limited number of Financial Need-Based Scholarships for those who qualify.

About Financial Assistance

  • Financial assistance is available for Camp S.W.A.G. programs.
  • Applications must be completed in full and include all required documents to be processed.
  • Scholarships are awarded based on financial need and program availability.
  • Funds are limited, so early submission of applications increases your chances of being accommodated.

Processing Time: Please allow 4–6 weeks for processing after submission.

Application Process

To apply for financial assistance, complete the following steps:

  1. Complete the Financial Assistance Application:
  2. Provide Proof of Household Income:
    • Submit your most recent tax return (Form 1040, not W-2). Social Security numbers must be redacted.
  3. Provide Current Income Verification:
    • Include one month of recent pay stubs or other proof of combined household income, such as:
      • SSI/SSDI statements
      • Food Stamps documentation
      • Child Support statements
      • Other applicable aid
  4. Additional Income Verification (if required):
    • At Camp S.W.A.G.’s discretion, you may be asked to provide additional verification, such as:
      • A signed letter from your employer on official letterhead detailing your weekly income.
  5. Submit Application and Documents:

Notification Process

  • Camp S.W.A.G. will notify applicants via the contact information provided on their application.
  • Applicants are responsible for updating their contact information if it changes.
  • Notification of your scholarship status will be sent within 4–6 weeks of submission.

  1. Confidentiality:
    • All personal and financial information provided will be kept strictly confidential and used solely for the purpose of evaluating scholarship eligibility.
  2. Non-Discrimination:
    • Scholarships are awarded without regard to race, ethnicity, religion, gender, sexual orientation, or disability.
  3. Fraud Disclaimer:
    • Providing false or misleading information in your application may result in disqualification and repayment of any awarded funds.
  4. Reapplication:
    • Scholarships are granted for one program at a time. You must reapply for each new event or camp.
    • Applications must be submitted annually for recurring programs.
  5. Limited Availability:
    • Scholarships are awarded on a first-come, first-served basis based on funding availability. Early applications are encouraged.

Application Process

  • Complete Financial Assistance Application
  • Household income from most recent tax return (1040 not W2)
  • One month proof of recent income (paystubs), or other proof of your current combined household income (SSI/SSDI, Food Stamps, Child Support, or other Aid)
  • Other proof of income verification may be required and/or accepted at the discretion of Camp S.W.A.G, i.e. signed letter from your employer, on your employer’s letterhead detailing the weekly income you earn.

Notification Process

  • Camp S.W.A.G. will notify applicants via the contact information provided on the financial assistance application
  • Applicants are expected to update contact information as needed.
  • Please expect to hear from us within 4-6 weeks of submitting your Financial Need Based Scholarship application.
